Terms of use

These Terms of use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Renticulate (“we”, “us”, “our”) for use of the Renticulate Trade website and directory at trade.renticulate.com (the “Service”).

By browsing the Service, creating an account, publishing a listing, or sending a quote request, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Renticulate Trade is an online directory of tradespeople in Western Australia. We publish business profiles and help customers contact listed trades. We are not the tradesperson, and we are not a party to any job, quote, or contract between a customer and a listed business unless we say so in writing.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or any other law that cannot be excluded.

If you are a consumer and goods or services we supply fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy. Where we are permitted to limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee (other than a guarantee as to title, undisturbed possession, or undisclosed securities), our liability is limited, at our option, to resupplying the services or paying the cost of resupplying them.

Listings are supplied by the listed business or compiled by us from information they provide. A profile is not a recommendation, licence check, insurance check, or warranty that the tradesperson is suitable for your job.

A verification tick means we have reviewed the listing and are satisfied it appears to be a genuine business. It is not a licence, police check, insurance certificate, or guarantee of workmanship, price, or availability.

You must make your own enquiries before engaging anyone — including licences, insurance, references, and a written scope. Any contract is between you and the tradesperson.

If you request a quote or use a call button, your message or call goes to the listed business. We do not control how quickly they reply, what they quote, or whether they take the job.

Do not include payment card numbers, government identifiers, or other sensitive details in a quote form. We are not responsible for work arranged off-platform.

If you create an account you must be at least 18, use accurate details, keep your password confidential, and only list a business you are authorised to represent.

You must not publish false, misleading, or deceptive information (including under the Australian Consumer Law), infringe anyone’s rights, or upload unlawful or offensive content. Photos you upload must be yours to use, or used with permission. A listing you save as a draft is not shown on the public directory until you publish it. You can hide a live listing back to draft at any time.

If you write a testimonial for another listed tradesperson, it must be your honest opinion based on real work. You must not write about your own listing, offer or accept a fake testimonial, or post defamatory, abusive, or advertising copy. Testimonials are shown with your account name. We may hide or remove them.

We may refuse, edit, hide, or remove a listing, or suspend an account, if we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached, the listing is inaccurate, or we need to protect users or the Service. File-based listings may also be updated by us as the directory operator.

You must not:

• use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purposes
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts or systems
• scrape, harvest, or bulk-copy listings except as allowed by a public search engine acting in the ordinary way
• introduce malware or interfere with the Service
• send unsolicited commercial electronic messages in breach of the Spam Act 2003 (Cth)

We own or licence the Service design, software, and our trade marks. You keep ownership of content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and reproduce that content on the Service so we can operate the directory.

You must not copy the Service or our branding for a competing directory without permission.

We aim to keep the Service available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. Listings may take time to appear or update.

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to section 3, we are not liable for:

• work, quotes, or conduct of a listed tradesperson
• loss caused by information a listed business supplied
• loss of profit, opportunity, or data that is not a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach
• unavailability of the Service or third-party hosting outages

Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to AUD $100, or the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months (if any), whichever is greater — except where the Australian Consumer Law or another non-excludable law requires otherwise.

You are responsible for your use of the Service and for content you submit. If your listing or conduct causes us loss (including a third-party claim), you must make good that loss to the extent you caused it, except to the extent we caused it.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia. The courts of Western Australia have non-exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have to bring a claim in another Australian jurisdiction.
