Privacy policy
Last updated 24 September 2026. These terms apply to the Renticulate Trade website at trade.renticulate.com.
1. About this policy
Renticulate (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates Renticulate Trade. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use, and disclose personal information. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) when we send electronic messages.
This policy covers the website at trade.renticulate.com. It does not cover websites of listed tradespeople we link to, or how those businesses handle information you send them directly.
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. The current version is always on this page.
2. Who we are
Renticulate
Trading as Renticulate Trade
Western Australia, Australia
Email: renticulate@gmail.com
Website: trade.renticulate.com
For APP 1, this policy is our public description of how we manage personal information. If you have a privacy question or complaint, start with the contact details above.
3. Information we collect
We may collect:
- Account and listing details — name, email, password (stored as a hash), phone number, business name, trade, service area, base suburb, travel distance, suburbs, hours, website, photos, captions, and other profile copy you submit.
- Trade testimonials — your name, rating, and the text you write about another listed business, stored so we can show it on that public profile.
- Quote requests — your name, contact details, suburb, and job description, sent to the listed business so they can reply.
- Feedback and contact messages — your name, email, topic, and message, sent to renticulate@gmail.com so we can reply. We do not keep a copy on this site.
- Verification and admin records — whether a listing is verified or hidden, and related account identifiers.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from IP. We use a signed session cookie when you log in. We do not use advertising cookies or sell mailing lists.
- Google reviews (optional) — if a business adds a Google Maps or share.google link, we may store that link and, when a Places API key is configured, fetch public review data from Google to display on their profile. That data is Google’s, shown as Google supplies it.
We do not seek government identifiers (such as tax file numbers) or payment card numbers. Please do not send them through the quote form.
4. How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you create an account, edit a listing, request a quote, or email us. We may also collect technical data automatically when you use the site.
If you provide someone else’s details (for example a staff email on a listing), you must have their authority to do so.
5. Why we collect it
We use personal information to:
- operate the directory and publish listings you ask us to show
- publish trade testimonials you submit about other listings
- pass quote requests to the relevant tradesperson
- create and secure accounts, and keep you signed in
- verify or remove listings, and deal with misuse
- respond to feedback, enquiries, and privacy requests
- maintain, secure, and improve the Service
- meet our legal obligations
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your contact details to send marketing unless you have consented, and you can opt out of any marketing we send.
6. Who we disclose it to
We may disclose personal information to:
- Listed tradespeople — when you submit a quote form, the content is sent to the email on that listing so they can contact you.
- Service providers who host or operate the Service for us, including website hosting and, where a quote or feedback form is used, the form-delivery provider that forwards the message.
- Google — only if a listing opts into live reviews via a Place ID, and only to retrieve public review data.
- Professional advisers, or a person who acquires our business, on a confidential basis.
- Anyone you ask us to, or as required or authorised by Australian law (for example a court order).
7. Overseas disclosure
The Service is hosted on infrastructure that may store or process data outside Australia (including in the United States and other regions used by our hosting provider). Quote emails may also pass through mail providers outside Australia.
By using the Service you acknowledge that your information may be disclosed to overseas recipients. We take reasonable steps so that those recipients handle it consistently with the APPs, but overseas laws may differ. This notice is given for APP 8.
8. Storage and security
We hold information in electronic systems with access limited to people who need it to operate the Service. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, not in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we become aware of an eligible data breach we will follow the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act.
10. Access, correction, and deletion
You may request access to personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it (APPs 12 and 13). Listed trades can also update most listing details after they log in.
You may ask us to delete an account or take a listing off the public directory. We may keep a limited record where we need it for security, dispute handling, or the law.
Send requests to the email in section 2. We may need to verify who you are. We will respond within a reasonable period, usually 30 days.
11. Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email us first using the contact details above and describe what happened. We will investigate and reply within a reasonable time.
If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992, or GPO Box 5288 Sydney NSW 2001.
12. Children
The Service is aimed at adults arranging trade work or listing a business. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Related terms
Use of the Service is also subject to our Terms of use.
